Galley Slaves- Post 3

Today I went to my friend Titus's ship to treat his and his friends blisters from the triremes. I was almost attack by a few because they thought I was coming to hurt them, they did not realize what my medical equipment was for, but Titus fought them off. One was killed in the process...he simply did not understand what I was trying to do. But the rest were subdued, and I was able to treat them. Thank you, Titus.

  1. No thank you, when galley slaves become weak and useless at sea they are given no choice but to be thrown overboard..I am eternally grateful for your medical practices.

  2. Today we had to row against the waves at full speed for an hour and I sweat blood....Im guessing thats a bad thing. Then again, I was cut by the whip lashing against my back anyways...

Sweating blood is a myth do you think I actually did?

  3. Sweating blood is impossible, my dear friend. The sweat gland is in no way connected the the capillaries in your skin. It was probably from the whip at your back, and for that I am very sorry.
